Hall of Fame
Valmir Fernandes was inducted into the Azusa Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame in 1992. From 1977-1980, he was a member of the Azusa Pacific Men’s Soccer team. During his four seasons at Azusa Pacific, he earned All-District III and All-Far West honors. In 1980 he was named to the NAIA Second Team All-American. He is fifth on the all-time APU scoring list with 78 points and goals scored with 29. He is second on the all-time assists list with 20. Throughout his career, he helped the team compile a 46-26-5 record. After graduating from Azusa Pacific, he played U.S. Professional indoor and outdoor soccer.
