Jeff Gustin was a member of the Azusa Pacific Football Team from 1986-1989. He is the only player ever to lead the Cougars in tackling for four consecutive seasons. He was recognized in 1987 and 1988, as a NAIA All-American Honorable mention. In 1989, he was named to the NAIA All-American Second Team. Over the course of his career, he recorded 16 sacks and four interceptions. He set the school record for most tackles in a: game-20 (Redlands in 1989), season-118 (1989), and career-370. As a 1988 junior, he lead a Cougar defense that was fifth in the nation against the run (61.1 avg.) and sixth in total defense (205.0 avg.).
