Chuck Boswell is a charter member of the Azusa Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame.  During his 4-year career at Azusa Pacific in the late1960s, Boswell established himself as the consummate collegiate basketball player, excelling in shooting, rebounding, defense, and team play, a role model for coach Cliff Hamlow's style of play.  The slender left-hander stylishly coordinated his talents to lead the Cougars in scoring, free throws and rebounds during his final 3 seasons, the first Cougar to accomplish that feat.  He became the first Cougar to score more than 2,000 points in a career, totaling 2,090.  He set the school career records for free throws (644) and rebounds (1,373).  While compiling an 18.8 scoring average over his career, Boswell scored 30-or-more points in a game 11 times, and his 42 points in a game in 1967 was the single-game school record.  Boswell was an NAIA All-American honor mention selection in 1969.  He went on to assist Hamlow after graduation and serve as the tennis program's head coach.  His son, Jason, later played for the Cougars for 4 years in the 1990s.
