Sharon Lehman was a four-year letter winner for the Cougar's Women's Basketball program from (1978-1982). However, she is most notably recognized as the head coach for the Azusa Pacific Softball team from 1995-2005. Lehman is Azusa Pacific's all-time winningest softball coach, fashioning a 428-195 record in 11 seasons (averaging 39 wins a season). She guided Azusa Pacific to three-NAIA tournament appearances, leading the Cougars to fifth-place finishes in 1996, 1997, and the National Championship game in 2000. She coached the Cougars to three Golden State Athletic Conference championships and was named the GSAC Coach of the Year each time. Lehman was also named the 1997 and 2000 National Fastpitch Coaches Association and NAIA Softball Coach of the Year. Throughout her Cougar coaching career, she coached nine NAIA All-Americans, including four first-team selections, and eight GSAC Players/Pitchers of the Year.
