Don Lawrence was the head coach for the Azusa Pacific Soccer team from 1972-2001. He also served as the Cougars head coach for Men's Basketball and Men's tennis. Lawrence is the GSAC's all-time winningest soccer coach with 180 career wins. He is a three-time GSAC/NAIA District 3 Coach of the Year. He led Azusa Pacific to 3 GSAC titles in a 5 year span from (1996-200). His final six teams were ranked in the NAIA Top 25, including the 1997 and 2000 teams that were ranked No. 2 in the final poll. In 1996, he guided Azusa Pacific to its first-ever NAIA Soccer Tournament Appearance. In his final seven seasons at Azusa Pacific, he coached the Cougars to a 105-37-3 record. From 1982-2001, Lawrence served as the Chairman of the Azusa Pacific Physical Education Department. He was also the member of the NCCAA Executive and All-American Selection Committees.
