Hall of Fame
Doug Barnett was inducted into the Azusa Pacific Hall of Fame in 1992. During his time at Azusa Pacific (1978-1982) he was a member of the Azusa Pacific Football and Track & Field teams. In 1988, he was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame. In 1981, he was the first Azusa Pacific football player named to the NAIA All-American first team. He was named a Nine-time All American in football and track & field. In 1981 & 1982, he was the NAIA National Champion in the hammer throw. In 1981, he was named the NAIA indoor shot put champion. As a member of the Azusa Pacific football team, he holds the APU record for quarterback sacks in a game (8) and season (19). From 1982-1987, he played professional football with the Rams, Redskins, and Falcons.
