Azusa Pacific’s all-time leading scorer with 1,939 points, Lindsey West was a four-year starter and a two-time NAIA All-American while leading the Cougars to three straight 20-win seasons and back-to-back NAIA “Sweet 16” appearances. As a 2006 senior, West averaged 18.6 points and 8.5 rebounds and was named NAIA All-America first team after leading the Cougars to their second straight 24-win campaign. Midway through her senior season she put together a four-game stretch in which she averaged 27.8 points and 10.0 rebounds, which included a 31-point, 13-rebound effort in a 100-97 regulation-timed victory over Westmont in which she spearheaded a Cougar comeback from 17 down in the second half, resulting in the Cougars' first 100-point game in Golden State Athletic Conference play. As a 2004 sophomore, she led the Cougars into the NAIA Tournament after averaging team highs of 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds a game. For her effort she was named NAIA All-American third team. Despite enduring a knee injury that caused her to miss nine games during her 2005 junior campaign, West was still a four-time All-GSAC selection (only the second in program history). She set five school records during her 124-game career, including most free throws made in a game (16) and most blocked shots in a game (7). West excelled in the classroom as well and was named NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete after her junior and senior seasons. An outstanding athlete, West tinkered with collegiate tennis, joining the Cougar women’s tennis team following her 2004 sophomore season and posted an 8-3 mark at No. 6 singles. She was also a member of Azusa Pacific’s first-ever NAIA Tournament team, going 3-0 in postseason singles play. Born and raised in Bakersfield, Calif., West played four years of basketball and tennis, three years of softball, and served as ASB president and treasurer at Wasco Union High School.
