Hall of Fame
Jim Phillips was inducted into the Azusa Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame in 1992. During his time at Azusa College,1959-1962, he was a three sport varsity athlete, lettering in Baseball, Basketball, and Football. Phillips was a standout member of the Azusa College Baseball Team (Played before merger with Pacific College), where he helped lead the team to four straight GSAA titles and a 71-22 overall record. In 1962, he set the APU single-season batting average record by hitting .477. He hit a career 22 home runs, and led the team in RBIs in each of his four seasons at Azusa College, and placed a career total of 155 RBIs.
