Azusa Pacific had 217 student-athletes named to the 2023-24 Academic All-PacWest team. Nine Cougar teams produced 10 or more honorees: baseball, women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, men's track & field, women's track & field and volleyball. Five of those programs also claimed the PacWest championship for their sport, as men's cross country, women's basketball, men's tennis, and men's and women's track & field claimed their respective titles, while men's and women's basketball also claimed their respective conference tournament titles.

The Cougar baseball squad had the highest total for any men's team in the PacWest with 31 selections, while women's basketball tied for the highest among their sport with 14 selections. Of the 1900 student athletes from the 15 PacWest accredited sports that were named Academic All-PacWest, Azusa Pacific's 217 makes up about 11% of that total. This is the second highest number of Azusa Pacific student-athletes recognized since joining the PacWest conference. Cougar athletics saw the most student-athletes named to the Academic All-PacWest team in 2022-23 with 218.

I'm continuously proud of the efforts and dedication by our student-athletes and their God-honoring excellence in their respective sports and in the classroom." 

To qualify, student-athletes have to achieve at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average, completed at least two semesters at their institution and participated in regular season competition in one of the 15 PacWest sponsored sports.
