THIS YEAR:  With the graduation of several players from the 3-time conference champion Cougars, sophomore Sydni Hani emerges as a talented player set to fill the void of so many vacancies in the line-up ... A gifted player who has a good shooting touch in the key ... Creates difficult match-ups because of her height and an ability to play on the perimeter and handle the ball ... Will push for a starting assignment and should emerge as a viable offensive option as the season unfolds.

2023-24:  Came off the bench in all 33 games during her 2024 freshman season at Azusa Pacific ... Averaged 2.2 points and 2.6 rebounds ... Had a season-high 8 points on 4-of-5 shooting in 18 minutes of play in a 90-55 win over Fresno Pacific ... Registered another season-high of 8 rebounds in 20 minutes of a 67-50 win over Biola ... Best overall showing came in an early-season narrow defeat to Cal State LA in which she tallied 6 points, 3 rebounds and 4 blocked shots in 21 minutes.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 3 seasons of varsity basketball for Head Coach Jeff Wilson at state powerhouse Lake Washington High in Kirkland, Wash. ... Played on a pair of state 3A runner-up teams, including her 2023 senior squad which posted a 25-4 record but fell to rival Garfield for the third time in 4 years in the title game ... Named All-KingCo District first team and all-state tournament after averaging 9.7 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds to go along with 2.8 assists and 1,7 blocks during her senior campaign ... Scored 19 points in a state quarterfinal victory over Lincoln, tallying 14 in the second half, including 10 straight at one point to help the Kangaroos rally from 10 down ... Had 15 points and 12 rebounds in a 58-49 loss to Garfield in the state championship game in the Tacoma Dome ... Missed all of her 2022 junior season because of torn ACL and was limited to just 7 games in 2021 because of the COVID pandemic ... Was a significant contributor even as a 2020 freshman, appearing all 29 games for the 22-7 Kangaroos, averaging 5.5 points and 5.7 rebounds while helping Lake Washington advance to the state 3A championship game ... For her prep career, appeared in 62 games, averaging 7.3 points and 6.4 rebounds while helping guide the Kangaroos to a 3-year combined record of 54-12, which included a 26-6 KingCo District record ... Also played 2 seasons of volleyball at Lake Washington ... Played 4 years of travel ball with the Northwest Blazers, coached by Steve Klees.

PERSONAL:  Born March 16, 2005, in Kirkland, Wash., to Hobie and Kelly Hani ... Has 1 older sister, Elise, a redshirt sophomore on the University of Washington volleyball team ... Majoring in marketing and digital design.
