THIS YEAR:  Senior Grace Echelbarger is a veteran leader for Azusa Pacific’s cross country and track & field programs … Enters her final season having placed in the top-40 of the PacWest Cross Country Championships in each of her first 3 years, while contributing strong middle-distance and distance performances on the track.


2024 (Junior – Cross Country):  Competed in 5 meets, running a 6K season-best 22:49.9 to place 37th at the PacWest Championships in Irvine … Also raced at the NCAA DII West Regional in Billings, Montana, recording a 23:30.9 for 6K.

2024 (Track):  Ran on APU’s distance medley relay at the Rossi Relays, finishing 4th in 12:21.22 … Competitively active in the 800m and 1500m, including appearances at the Beach Opener and Bryan Clay Invitational.

2023 (Sophomore – Cross Country):  Appeared in 4 meets, highlighted by a 35th-place finish at the PacWest Championships with a 23:04.5 6K … Raced at the NCAA DII West Regional in Monmouth, Oregon, clocking 23:59.9 in difficult conditions.

2023 (Track):  Turned in career-best performances of 2:21.94 (800m), 4:55.47 (1500m), and 11:10.93 (3000m) … Ran legs on both the 4×400 relay and distance medley relay throughout the season.

2022 (Freshman – Cross Country):  Raced 4 times her debut season … Finished 39th at the PacWest Championships with a 23:42.4 6K … Ran a season-best 22:36.4 at the Highlander Classic and debuted with a 19:55.9 5K at the Mark Covert Classic.

2022 (Track):  Primarily ran the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m, while also competing in early-season relays … Competed in several meets across California during her rookie campaign.

HIGH SCHOOL:  A standout distance runner at King’s High in Seattle, Wash. … Competed for three seasons in both cross country and track at the 1A state level … As a senior, helped King’s win the Washington 1A state track & field championship, placing 5th in the 800m (2:23.60) and anchoring the 4×400 relay to a second-place finish … Was a scoring multi-event contributor at the Emerald Sound Conference Championships, placing in the 400m, 800m, 1600m, and relays … In cross country, qualified for three state championship meets, with a best state finish of 41st (21:16.4) as a senior.

PERSONAL:  Birthdate is May 7 … Majoring in Kinesiology at Azusa Pacific … is a  2-time PacWest All-Academic honoree who enjoys photography and works for APU’s Sports Information Office.
