THIS YEAR: A key player in the Cougar scheme since her arrival on campus as a 2023 freshman, Madison Woodward returns for her third year ... A dynamic player splitting time between outside back and winger, Woodward will look to find her way into the starting lineup after collecting a handful of starts in each of her first two years ... A powerful player in the air with pace and stamina on the flank and 1,390 total minutes under her belt.
2024: As a 2024 sophomore, appeared in all 17 matches, starting 5 early in the season ... Recorded 2 assists on the season, 1 in the season-opening 3-1 win at Cal Poly Humboldt and then again in the Cougars' 4-0 at home against Chaminade ... Played a season-high 79 minutes in the Cougars' 1-0 victory over No. 20 Western Washington, APU's first victory in 5 tries against the national power Vikings ... All tolled, registered 728 minutes of play on the field during the campaign.
2023: Saw action in 15 games, starting 6 for the Cougars in her true freshman season… Recorded one goal and two assists over 662 minutes played… Scored her lone goal of the season in Hawai'i in a 2-0 win against Chaminade.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Was a 2-sport standout at Peninsula High in Palos Verdes, Calif., from where she graduated in 2023 ... In soccer, played 4 years on the varsity level for Head Coach Scotte Massey ... Was a 2-time All-Bay League selection, including first-team recognition as a 2023 senior ... Was twice named team MVP ... Also excelled in cross country, a sport in which she was a 2-time CIF Southern Section finalist ... Had a 3-mile best of 18:40 ...
