AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific had 137 student-athletes named to the 2018-19 Academic All-PacWest team, as six Cougar teams produced 10 or more honorees, as baseball, women's soccer, softball, men's track & field, women's track & field, and volleyball led the way. Four of those programs also claimed the PacWest championship for their sport, as baseball, men's and women's track & field, and volleyball claimed their respective titles.
"Our student-athletes are competitive people who strive for excellence not just in athletics, but in academics as well, and this honor highlights their efforts," Director of Athletics
Gary Pine said. "Their dedication to discipline and hard work will reap benefits in their lives far beyond their time at Azusa Pacific, and I am honored that they have chosen to be a part of our programs."
To earn Academic All-PacWest distinction, a student-athlete must compete in a conference-sponsored sport, while maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
