Azusa Pacific improves 6-3 overall after beating South Dakota State University 8-1 while playing with NCAA Division I rules.

Results

The Cougars walked away from double leading 2-1 and dropping their only match of the evening. The tandem of Valeriia Kashina and Jackie Resler recorded the first Azusa Pacific victory winning 8-3 in the No. 2 spot. Kara Hinton and Tatiana Benancourt tallied an 8-3 victory over SDSU's No. 3 team.

Azusa Pacific's women won throughout, Natalie Johnson went into three, winning 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the No. 1 slot. Lisa Schneider won 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 2 position
while teammate Kashina won 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 3 spot. Hinton beat her opponent 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 while teammates Resler and Bentancurt both won 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 and No. 6 stop.

Azusa Pacific returns to the court Monday matching up with Lehigh University at 1:00 p.m.
