Cougars rally from doubles deficit with clutch singles wins to secure ranked road victory.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — No. 36 Azusa Pacific women's tennis delivered a gritty performance on the road Saturday, defeating No. 45 Point Loma 4–3 at the PLNU Tennis Courts to improve to 16–2 on the season.

Point Loma seized early momentum by claiming the doubles point, winning at Nos. 1 and 2 before Kimberly Tran and Shannele Lopez earned a 6–3 victory at No. 3.

Trailing 1–0, the Cougars responded with poise in singles.

Karola Suviste was first off the court with a commanding 6–3, 6–2 win at No. 2 singles, quickly evening the match. No. 36 Stina Larsson followed with a strong 6–4, 6–4 victory at No. 1, giving APU its first lead of the afternoon.

After Point Loma picked up a point at No. 4, the Cougars continued to battle across the lineup. Shannele Lopez delivered a key three-set comeback at No. 3, winning 2–6, 6–2, 6–3 to swing momentum back in APU's favor.

The match came down to the final courts, and Mariana Reveles Arreola provided the clinching moment at No. 6, battling through three sets to secure a 6–3, 2–6, 6–4 victory and seal the dual for the Cougars.

Point Loma added another point at No. 5, but Azusa Pacific's strength at the top and clutch performances in key moments proved decisive.
