AZUSA, Calif. — No. 36 Azusa Pacific women's tennis battled back from an early deficit Wednesday afternoon, defeating Missouri-St. Louis 5–2 at the Munson & Bayougian Tennis Complex to improve to 15–2 on the season.
Missouri-St. Louis (6–4) came out strong in doubles, taking the point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 before Mariana Reveles and Kimberly Tran secured a 6–1 victory at No. 3.

Trailing 1–0, the Cougars flipped the match in singles with a dominant showing across the lineup.
Karola Suviste was first off the court with a commanding 6–0, 6–1 win at No. 3 singles, quickly evening the score. Moments later, No. 36 Stina Larsson delivered a statement performance at the top of the lineup, cruising to a 6–3, 6–0 victory at No. 1 to give APU the lead.
The match tightened briefly as Missouri-St. Louis earned a point at No. 2, but Azusa Pacific responded with control across the remaining courts.
Shannele Lopez delivered one of the most pivotal wins of the day at No. 4, rallying after dropping the first set to secure a 5–7, 6–1, 7–5 victory. Melis Mert followed with a dominant 6–2, 6–0 win at No. 5, and Kimberly Tran closed out the match with a 6–4, 6–4 victory at No. 6.
