AZUSA, Calif. — No. 34 Azusa Pacific continued its strong season Wednesday afternoon, defeating Colorado Mesa 6–1 at the Munson & Bayougian Tennis Complex to improve to 13–2 overall.
The Cougars took control early by securing the doubles point. Shannele Lopez and Karola Suviste set the tone with a 6–3 win at No. 2 doubles, followed by Vini Bautista and Mariana Reveles grinding out a 7–5 victory at No. 3 to clinch the point. The top court was left unfinished with APU in position to win.

With momentum in hand, Azusa Pacific carried that energy into singles play.
Vini Bautista was first off the court with a dominant 6–3, 6–0 victory at No. 2 singles, quickly extending the Cougars' lead. Shannele Lopez followed with a commanding 6–0, 6–4 win at No. 4, and No. 26 Stina Larsson added another point at the top spot with a 6–3, 6–1 performance.
Despite Colorado Mesa picking up its lone point at No. 3 singles, the Cougars closed strong with wins from Melis Mert at No. 5 (6–4, 6–2) and Kimberly Tran at No. 6 (6–4, 6–1) to seal the victory.
