AZUSA, Calif. – Playing two matches in one day, didn't stop Azusa Pacific from posting dominant victories in both contests, shutting out Colorado Christian, before clinching an 8-1 victory against Arizona Christian on Friday at the Cougar Tennis Complex.

Nine different Cougars scored points in the Cougars' 9-0 victory over Colorado Christian, where Azusa Pacific only dropped more than two games in one set.
Natalie Johnson and Kara Hinton teamed up for the first time and didn't drop a game winning 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Valeriia Kashina and Jackie Resler won their 10th doubles match in a row, winning 8-1. Then Nicole Arribere and Mackenzie Nickerson completed the sweep with an 8-2 win in the first doubles match for either Cougar this season.
Lisa Schneider played No. 1 singles for the first time this season after resting during doubles. The junior had no problems in dispatching her opponent 6-2, 6-2.
Freshman Electa Wright made her collegiate debut a flawless one, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles. Lilit Vardanyan then became the ninth Cougar to earn a point on the day, winning her No. 2 singles match 6-4, 6-1 in her first time at the No. 2 position.
Nickerson won her first singles match of the season 6-2, 6-1. Resler was also perfect in the first match of the double-header, winning 6-0, 6-0. Hinton won her third match in a row 6-1, 6-0 shortly after her victory at No. 1 doubles as the Cougars wrapped up the victory in just over two hours.
Against Arizona Christian, Azusa Pacific swapped some of the doubles pairings, which led to a convincing doubles sweep.

Hinton and Johnson played No. 1 singles together again and won 8-2 to remain undefeated as team. At No. 2 doubels, Kashina and Resler won their 11th match in a row 8-2. Then Vardanyan and Schneider won their first match together 8-1 to complete the doubles sweep.
Between singles and doubles, Hinton won 40 of 43 games on the day as she was the first Cougar off the court with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles against the Firestorm.
Arribere didn't drop a single game in her second match of the day either, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Johnson won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, and Schneider won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
Wright then wrapped up the singles sweep with her second win of both the day and her collegiate career, winning 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
Azusa Pacific plays again on Tuesday against Hawai`i Hilo at 11:45 a.m.
