AZUSA, Calif. — Day two of the prestigious Bryan Clay Invitational was packed with standout performances for Azusa Pacific, as Cougars across both men's and women's squads delivered personal bests and record-breaking times.
The day began with a stellar showing from Jonas Teeter, who kicked things off in the morning session with a four-second personal best in the men's 5000m. Teeter clocked a time of 14:46.73, continuing his strong spring campaign with a major improvement on the distance stage.
In the afternoon, the men's 800m featured impressive performances from both youth and experience. Freshman Erick Leal ran a personal best of 1:52.43, which now stands as the fastest 800m by a Cougar this outdoor season. Senior Adam King followed with a strong effort of his own, posting a season-best 1:53.48 as he continues to build momentum in his return to form.
The evening session was highlighted by a historic run in the women's 800m invite section, where Olivia Alexandre etched her name in the APU record books. Alexandre crossed the line in 2:05.72, shattering the previous program outdoor record of 2:07.31 set by Marian Ledesma at this very meet in 2022.
