IRVINE, Calif. — Just one week removed from helping Azusa Pacific claim key points at the PacWest Championships, senior thrower Brett Olson continued to showcase his consistency on Saturday at the 2025 Steve Scott Invitational, hosted by UC Irvine.
Competing against a stacked field of NCAA Division I and II athletes, Olson placed 14th overall out of 31 competitors in the men's discus throw, registering a mark of 48.02 meters. The performance marked the fourth time this season the Cougar veteran has surpassed the 48-meter barrier—an indicator of his steady form as the postseason nears.
Olson entered the meet fresh off a third-place finish at the PacWest Track & Field Championships, where he tossed 50.98 meters to land on the podium. Saturday's meet, which brought together elite throwers from across the region, offered another valuable test for the sophomore as he sharpens up for potential NCAA postseason qualification.
