AZUSA, Calif. - Following an undefeated trip to Hawai'i, APU was selected as the PacWest's Team of the Week. The Cougars defeated Chaminade (1-0) and Hawai'i Pacific (1-0) on the road to remain unbeaten in conference play, and extend their shutout streak to 9, tying the program record.
Here's what the PacWest said about its selection:
"
Azusa Pacific is the Team of the Week for the second week in a row in rolling to their eighth and ninth consecutive shutouts. The Cougars, who defeated Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific by 1-0 scores on the road, have now over 13 hours of match play without giving up a score, and have tied a school record with the nine straight blank sheets. Additionally, they have improved to 6-1-3 overall and 3-0 in PacWest play. KeeperÂ
Alexia Muniz calls the shots for the defense and added two more shutouts to her stat totals and had three saves in each match. The Cougars and Muniz had not given up a score since their opening match of the 2025 season, a 3-1 loss to defending national champ Cal Poly Pomona."
