How it Happened: Colorado Springs jumped on the Cougars immediately, scoring within the opening three minutes of the match. Just eight minutes later, the Cougars found themselves trailing 2-0 when a foul was committed inside the penalty box, which the Mountain Lions converted. The Cougars saw just three shots in the first half, while the Mountain Lions had seven.Â
The second half was a similar story, as Colorado Springs increased its lead to 3-0 in the 47th minute. The Mountain Lions controlled a large percentage of the second half, registering 63% of possession. In the 77th minute, Colorado Springs scored its fourth and final goal of the evening, tucking away a close-range shot in the bottom right corner of the net.Â
