Azusa, Calif. - Nationally ranked Cal Poly Pomona defended its home turf to shut out the Cougars 2-0 on Saturday night.
How it Happened: The Broncos' first goal came in the 9th minute of the match to take an early lead. Cal Poly Pomona prevented Azusa Pacific from taking a single shot in the opening 45 minutes of play while taking eight themselves.
The Broncos would double their lead early in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 48th minute. The Cougars created more opportunities, taking four shots, but were unable to convert. Cal Poly Pomona held onto its lead through the remainder of the game to improve its record to 2-1.
