AZUSA, Calif. – Things are starting to point in the right direction.
The Cougars dominated from the start as they posted a 9-0 victory over Western New Mexico on Thursday afternoon.

Azusa Pacific moves above the .500 mark for the first time in 2015 to 3-2. The 13th ranked Cougars are in the midst a nine-match home stand.
The Cougars quickly got in front during doubles play and never relented in cruising to the sweeping victory.
Bethany Duval and Danae Ingwaldson were the first off the courts with an 8-2 win at the third doubles spot. Jackie Resler and Lindsey Yeom wrapped-up quickly thereafter as they came away with an 8-1 decision. Natalie Johnson and Valeriia Kashina completed the Cougars triumph as they won 8-3 at the top doubles spot.
Johnson continued the Cougars momentum with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 triumph against Ganna Tiurina at the No. 1 single spot. Kashina beat her off the court by a few moments as she knocked off Annica Betaz 6-2, 6-1 in the second slot.
Ingwaldson's straight set 6-3, 6-1 victory gave the Cougars their sixth team point at the No. 4 singles match. The fourth singles match to finish was a tight one as Jackie Resler remained undefeated on the season with a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) win at the third singles slot.
Azusa Pacific completed the sweep with straight set wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches. Yeom dropped just one game in recording the win at the fifth position while Sierra Troxel completed the undefeated day with a 7-5, 6-2 victory.
On Friday afternoon Azusa Pacific will host Holy Names for the first time in school history.
