AZUSA, Calif. - For three seasons, Azusa Pacific's
Kelly Heimburger has been the player rival teams game-planned to stop. But no defensive scheme could slow down the Cougars' fifth-year senior, and now she stands at the forefront of the PacWest Conference.
Heimburger delivered a career year, averaging a personal-best 18.4 points per game while adding 6.1 rebounds per contest. The 6-foot forward led the PacWest in scoring and ranked among the league's best in multiple categories—third in blocked shots (47), fourth in free throw accuracy (85%), and tenth in steals (50). Already a three-time All-PacWest selection, Heimburger posted a career-high 39-point explosion against Hawai'i Pacific and has now amassed 1,754 career points, placing her eighth all-time in PacWest history.
A force on both ends of the floor, Heimburger continues to build her legacy after winning the 2024 PacWest Defender of the Year. She was also named the PacWest Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, becoming just the third player in conference history to earn back-to-back Player of the Year honors. She joins an elite group that includes Amy Baum (Hawai'i Pacific, 2020 and 2021) and Samantha Murphy (Grand Canyon, 2010 and 2011).
Joining Heimburger on the All-PacWest list is Amayah Kirkman, who earned her second all-conference selection. The graduate senior ranked fourth in the PacWest in both scoring (16.4 PPG) and steals (2.3 SPG), proving to be an electric playmaker. Kirkman turned in the two highest single-game scoring performances in the conference this season, pouring in 33 points against Westmont and 30 versus Academy of Art.
Rounding out Azusa Pacific's honorees is Audrey Sayoc, who landed a Third Team All-PacWest selection after a stellar campaign. The junior guard averaged 8.9 points, 4.9 assists, and 2.3 steals per game across 20 conference matchups, providing them with steady playmaking and defensive tenacity.
As the Cougars gear up for the PacWest Championships in San Rafael, Heimburger, Kirkman, and Sayoc have cemented their place among the conference's elite, adding to the storied tradition of Azusa Pacific women's basketball.
