CARSON, Calif. – Azusa Pacific's 2024-25 campaign and their eighth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament ended in the West Region Quarterfinal against #1 Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Kelly Heimburger and Lauren Jones paced the Cougars scoring 12 points each. Meanwhile Rachel Roderick scored 10 points in 20 minutes off the bench.
In the first quarter of action, the Toros and them could not create any separation as both entered the second quarter at a 18-18 deadlock.
As the ensuing action unfolded, CSUDH quickly took advantage of it going 3-for-9 (.333) from the field, doubling APU's 10 points with 20 of their own to take a 38-28 lead heading into the break.
The second half continued with the Toros being able to fend off the #8 seed Cougars from coming within striking distance as the they outscored it's 30 second half points with 39 of their own on 17-for-38 (.447) from the field to take the 77-58 win.
