SAN DIEGO, Calif - Azusa Pacific wrapped up competition for the weekend down in San Diego at the Aztec Invitational. Raymon Harper highlighted the day with his first place finish in the high jump with a 2.10m NCAA provisional mark as he currently holds the 4th place ranking nationally.
Among others in the field, Jermel Jones II had a 7.54m in the long jump where he currently ranks 1st in the nation in this event. Hannah Richardson also turned in a NCAA provisional mark of 13.96m in the shot put which currently ranks 4th in the country.Â
On the track, Alayna Verner knocked down a personal best in the 400 dash earning herself an NCAA provisional time with a time of 53.87, which ranks third in the nation.Â
More NCAA provisional times came throughout the day for the relay teams. In the 4x400 relay, the quartet of Kiayra Holmes, Trinity Miller, Jaylah Walker and Verner turned in a time of 3:41.99 which ranks 2nd in the country and the same team also earned a time of 45.83 in the 4x100, which ranks 3rd in the country and sits at 4th in the Azusa Pacific record books.Â
The 4x400 men's relay team of Daniel Bessolo, Dominic Gonzalez-Shelmire, Leroy Kwateh and Tyler Howard also hold the 3rd place rank in the country with a time of 3:12.58.
In the 100 hurdles, Esther Conde-Turpin earned a time of 13.62, which is just two seconds shy of the time she set last week and keeps her 2nd rank in the country.
In the 400 hurdles, Walker earned a time of 59.78 which keeps her ranked 1st overall in the country in this event and Howard also turned in a time of 52.46 which ranks 6th in the nation and earned himself an NCAA provisional time.Â
