AZUSA, Calif. - Azusa Pacific hosted Southwest Minnesota State on Friday afternoon, and the Cougars handled the Mustangs for a 7-0 victory.

Azusa Pacific opened the afternoon by winning 18 of 20 doubles sets that were played. On court No. 2, Lilla Plasek and Eleonora Liga cruised to a 6-1 win, and Madison Kane and Audrey Stewart followed on court No. 3 with a 6-0 victory to clinch the doubles point. Azusa Pacific also had a 6-1 win at No. 1 by Carolyn Brooner and April Wong.

Katherine Nguyen opened singles with a shutout 6-0 first set win, and then followed with a 6-2 second set win to put the Cougars up 2-0. Hannah Mulbarger gave Azusa Pacific the 3-0 lead on court No. 6, winning in straight sets (6-0, 6-2), and Plasek delivered the match-clinching point at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1).Â

The Cougars closed out the match with straight set wins at No. 2 (Audrey Stewart won 6-2, 6-1), No. 1 (April Wong won 6-2, 6-2) and No. 5 (Mikaela Mueller won 6-3, 6-3).
