Azusa Pacific won eight of 11 events on Saturday to win a dual meet at Alaska Fairbanks for the second consecutive day.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Swimming for the second consecutive day up in Alaska against Alaska Fairbanks, the Cougars captured their second dual meet win of the weekend, outscoring the Nanooks by a 125-76 margin on Saturday morning.

"We had a good team effort over the last two days," said Azusa Pacific head coach Timothy Kyle, "The team is continuing to stay focused. We are heading to some big training weeks before our mid-season meet (Winter Invitational on Nov. 18-20), and this weekend is motivational for us as we continue to progress and accomplish this season."

After winning the majority of events in Friday's dual meet, Azusa Pacific followed up on Saturday by winning eight of 11 events, starting with the 200 medley relay, where Montana White, Marci Yanagawa, Amanda Anderson and Riley Smith combined for a time of 1:52.26 to win the event. 

In the first individual event of the meet, the 1000 free, Aleena Herrera swam a time of 10:42.96 to finish first. The Cougars would follow up the 1000 free with three consecutive event wins, as Smith won the 200 free (2:03.63), White placed first in the 50 free (25.11), and Herrera captured her second first place finish of the day with a 400 IM time of 4:38.72. 

While the Nanooks picked up a first place finish in the 200 fly, the Cougars would win three more events on the day, doing so in the 100 free (Riley Smith - 54.81), 200 back (Marci Yanagawa - 2:13.01) and 500 free (Montana White - 5:10.82).

Madeline Schultz - 10 points (2nd in 200 medley relay, 2nd in 50 free (25.21), 2nd in 100 free (54.96))

Up Next: The Cougars will next compete on November 5, when they welcome Biola to Slauson Pool in Azusa on November 5 for a dual meet.
