AZUSA, Calif. - Azusa Pacific picked up their 10th victory of the season (10-3) as they swept their rival Biola on Saturday afternoon.Â
The Cougars quickly stole the doubles point from the Eagles in which they won two of their three matchups. In the No. 2 contest, great serving from Ryan Nuno and Sam Sippel propelled them to an impressive 6-1 victory. The No. 1 pairing of Jakob Schnaitter and Leyton Bohren followed right behind them with a 6-2 victory. The No. 3 contest went unfinished as the doubles point was clinched by Schnaitter and Bohren.Â
Going into the singles matchups, the Cougars looked to complete their second sweep in a row. Sippel started the Cougars off with a quick 6-1, 6-2 victory. Schnaiiter had an impressive showing of his own as he won his matchup in the No. 1 slot by a score of 6-4, 6-2. The sweep was sealed for the Cougars by senior Ryan Nuno as his contest ended in straight sets as well, 6-4, 6-1. The No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 matchups went unfinished.Â
The Cougars look to extend their winning streak to five as they take on Concordia next Friday April 2 at home. The matchup is set to begin at 2:30 PM and can be followed via live stats
