Biography

2022: Named to the Second Team All-PacWest team in doubles play, earned ITA academic all district distinction and named Academic All-PacWest… He posted a record of 13-6 in singles play this season… Alongside Ryan Nuno, the duo went 16-6 at No. 1 in doubles play, picking up four wins against ranked opponents on the season… They finished the season ranked #21 in the nation. In the final match of the PacWest championships, he claimed the final set against Hawaii Pacific to help the Cougars claim their second PacWest title in program history. 

2021 (Sophomore): Received ITA All-American distinction in doubles play… Finished the season ranked No. 3 nationally in the final ITA Doubles rankings with partner Jakob Schnaitter… Ranked No. 1 in the West Region doubles rankings with Schnaiitter... Named to All-PacWest Third-Team in singles and First-Team in doubles… Posted an 8-6 singles record (No. 4: 8-5 | No. 3: 0-1)… Finished 18-3 in doubles (No. 1: 17-3 | No. 3: 1-0)... Went undefeated from March 13 until April 10 in singles play while tallying six victories during that period… Defeated Marcel Hornug of No. 10 Hawai’i Pacific (April 17) 6-4, 6-3 which helped lead the Cougars to a 4-1 victory over the Sharks… Alongside Schnaitter, the pair won 10 doubles matches without surrendering a loss from March 5 until April 9… The duo defeated nationally ranked No. 16 Benjamin Loccisano and Marcel Hornug of Hawai’i Pacific twice during the season, both contests ended 6-1 at No. 1.
2020 (COVID-shortened season):
ITA All-American (Doubles)... Won the ITA Fall West Region Doubles Championship with partner Jesse Haas… ITA Scholar-Athlete honoree…
Haas & Bohren were ranked third in the final ITA West Region Doubles spring poll... Posted a 4-4 doubles record overall in the spring, with a 2-4 record at #1 and a 2-0 record at #2… In singles, went 2-3 overall, with a 2-2 record at #3 and 0-1 at #4… Academic All-PacWest distinction... CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large honoree.

2019 (Freshman): As a true freshman was named to doubles second-team All-PacWest with partner Ryan Nuno... Appeared in 22 singles matches and 27 doubles matches... Finished with a 11-6 record in singles and a 19-5 record in doubles with partner Ryan Nuno… Won 7-5 in a doubles match against nationally ranked Saint Leo (April 2nd) and then won 6-4 the next day against nationally ranked Flager (April 3)... Won three straight singles matches against Western New Mexico (March 12), UC Riverside (March 15), and Colorado Mesa (March 16)... Selected to Academic All-PacWest.

High School: Captain of the men’s tennis team senior year…Advanced to the 32 round in the CIF Individuals Singles Championship.

Personal: Born October 29, 1999 in Baldwin Park, Calif… Both parents Joelle and Mark Bohren are Azusa Pacific Alumni, while father (Mark Bohren) played for the APU men’s tennis team…Majoring in biology with intentions to pursue his education in medical school.
