Box Score Azusa, Calif.-- The No. 16 APU women's tennis team gutted out an important PacWest win today, coming through in the clutch with a couple two set victories that sealed a 4-2 win over visiting Concordia at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Courts. A quick doubles point gave way to a long stretch of singles play before the Cougars closed in to clinch the victory. The win improves the Cougars to 10-5 overall on the season.
The Eagles jumped out in doubles with a quick 6-4 win over APU's
Anna Savchenko and
April Wong at the No. 2 position. APU answered back, controlling the remainder of doubles play down to the line in whipping up a 7-6, 7-2 victory at the top spot from
Kara Hinton and
Jacky Wagner before teammates Kaita Betancourt and
Courtney Page downed their opponents 7-6, 7-2 at court three to clinch the doubles point before heading into singles.

Jacky Wagner topped Samantha Schuster 6-3, 6-2 on court four. Concordia's Taylor Lau downed
Kara Hinton at the No. 2 spot 3-6, 4-6, while
Petra Ivankovic lost at the top spot in three sets to Ghazal Pakbaten 4-6, 6-3, 3-6. At court six,
Mikayla Rinker finished the match with a win over Halle Van Natta 6-4, 6-1 to secure the Cougar's 4-2 victory.
