#22 Azusa Pacific put together a strong second-half effort, however, #12 Loyola Marymount claimed an 11-8 win on Saturday afternoon.

Loyola Marymount jumped out to an early lead, as the Lions scored five goals in the first period, while Azusa Scored once in the opening eight minutes of play. Sophomore
Hannah Bradley opened the scoring for the Cougars, as she scored on a powerplay with a little over two minutes left in the first period.

In the second period, each team scored just once. The Lions scored with 1:22 remaining, to extend the lead to 6-1. With a little more than 30 seconds remaining before halftime, Cougar junior
Mireia Tutusaus Alcaraz cut the deficit back down to four goals, as she scored on a powerplay to make the score 6-2.

Azusa Pacific struck first in the third period, when Bradley scored her second goal of the game to trim Loyola Marymount's lead down to 6-3. The Lions would push the lead back up to four, when they scored on a powerplay to make it 7-3. Tutusaus Alcaraz would respond for Azusa Pacific, as she scored her second goal of the game with 2:46 left in the period. LMU would add two more scores in the third period, as the Lions took a 9-4 lead into the final eight minutes of play.

Freshman Milena Guzmán Ortiz opened the scoring in the fourth for the Cougars, as she scored her 27
th goal of the season that cut the LMU lead down to 9-5. The Lions pushed the lead up to six, scoring two unanswered goals with 5:02 and 3:15 left in the game. Azusa Pacific would make one final push in the game, as the Cougars scored three goals in the final two and a half minutes of regulation.

Bradley led the Cougars with four goals, while Tutusaus Alcaraz and Guzmán Ortiz each scored two goals. Tutusaus Alcaraz also had a game-high four steals, and sophomore
Gabrielle Martinez had three steals. Sophomore goalkeeper
Olivia Lott finished with seven steals in the game.
