AZUSA, Calif. – #5 Hawai'i defeated #25 Azusa Pacific by a final of 13-7 on Tuesday afternoon. The visiting Rainbow Wahine used a strong second period to pull away from Azusa Pacific, as they outscored the Cougars 6-2 in the period, which gave them an 8-3 halftime lead. In the second half, Hawai'i outscored Azusa Pacific 5-4 over the final 16 minutes.
 
Azusa Pacific was led by sophomore 
Hannah Bradley, who scored three goals for the Cougars. Junior 
Mireia Tutusaus Alcaraz had two assists in the game. Defensively, sophomore 
Gabrielle Martinez and senior 
Mar Pastor Alvarez each had two steals. Sophomore 
Olivia Lott played all of the first half in goal for the Cougars, finishing with three saves. In the second half, freshman Gabrielle Mantkya took over as the goalie, notching two saves and a steal.
 
Hawai'i was led by Elyse Lemay-Lavoie, who scored five goals in the game.
 
Azusa Pacific, 5-8 overall on the season, will play in the Cal Lutheran Tina Finali Invitational. The Cougars will take on Fresno Pacific on Friday, Feb. 22 at 1:30 p.m., followed by two matches on Saturday against Cal Lutheran (8:00 a.m.) and Sonoma State (1:15 p.m.).
