GLENDORA, Calif. – Azusa Pacific started their home schedule with a pair of games on Saturday.
After dropping the opening contest in a tightly played game against Cal State Northridge, the Cougars offense was on full display in the afternoon during a 12-goal exhibition win versus the University of Toronto.
Azusa Pacific moves to 5-3 heading into next weekend's four games at the Tina Finali Invitational hosted by Cal Lutheran.

Despite trailing by three goals after the opening eight minutes the Cougars rebounded well with a strong second quarter but Cal State Northridge finished well in the third and fourth periods.
Madeleine Sanchez found the back of the cage twice and Lindsey Garcia also added a net-finder as the Matadors (6-5) raced out to the 3-0 lead. Azusa Pacific shrugged off their deficit as Britni Tisdale, Mar Pastor and Pastor again tied the score after 16 minutes.
Cal State Northridge retook the lead on a Jennayln Barthels goal with 5:22 left in the third stanza. The responded with a Tisdale got exactly three minutes later. With 1:47 left in the period, Emma Franck gave the Matadors the lead back – a lead they would not relinquish.
After a handful of empty possessions by both teams, including extra-person attacks on both sides, Cal State Northridge took a multi-goal lead when Garcia scored with 4:59 left. They took a commanding lead when Amy Yule scored the final goal of the contest with 2:56 remaining.
Although the Cougars outshot their counterparts by a 29-21 count, Matador goalkeeper Niki Van Vugt made 11 saves to aid in the winning effort. Erica Marquez made seven saves for the Cougars.
Azusa Pacific was solid on defense when down a player as they held Cal State Northridge to a 1-for-8 success rate. The Cougars went 1-for-3 with the extra player.

Nearly everyone got into the scoresheet in some fashion during the big win. Ten different players found the back of the cage while all three Cougar goalkeepers played at least one period.

Hannah Bradley and Mar Pastor each found the back of the cage twice. Annalise Batcher took a team high six shots and scored a goal. Also getting into the scoring action with a goal each were

Jordan Hummingbird and
Arianne Yeo.
In front the net
Olivia Lott played the second and third quarters, making seven saves. Starter
Erica Marquez blocks three shots while
Kristine Khachikian finished the game with a save in the final quarter.
