RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Cougars completed their second full weekend of play on Saturday at the California Baptist Mini-Invitational with a pair of victories.
They opened the day against Whitter before taking on ClaremontMuddScripps to complete the one-day event.

The Cougar offense was clicking from the opening sprint in the 10-goal win against a Poets squad that has won two of the last three Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) titles.
Azusa Pacific won the first period by a 6-2 count then all but put the game out of reach by scoring five of the second frame's six goals.
Sarah Adams led the way with a team best, and career high, four goals. The sophomore posted a perfect shooting percentage in her offensive explosion. She was not the only player to enjoy a multi-goal performance as Mireia Tutusaus Alcaraz, Annalise Batcheller and Hannah Bradley all scored a pair of goal.
Five other Cougars put the ball in the cage one-time as Shanna Stevenson, Marissa Joerke, Britt Harris, Britni Tisdale and Mar Pastor got into the action.
Batcheller and Harris each recorded two assists.

After the Antenas scored the first goal of the game, the Cougars responded with a pair of Hannah Bradley's net-finders before Britt Harris and Sarah Adams found the back of the cage. Azusa Pacific took a 4-1 lead after the initial eight minutes.
The Cougars shutout ClaremontMuddScripps in the second period as Harris posted a hat trick in the frame. Despite a 7-1 deficit the Athenas stayed in the game as they held Azusa Pacific scoreless but the Cougars were solid defensively as they allowed just a single goal.
After back-to-back low scoring period's the teams combined to score seven times in the last eight minutes. After the Anthenas found the back of the cage for the first two goals of the period, the Cougars put to rest any hopes of a comeback with four unanswered goals. Harris, Adams and Bradley each scored once while Britni Tinsdale rounded out the Azusa Pacific scoring.
In front of the cage Erica Marquez earned the win by making five saves.
