LOS ANGELES, Calif.- In the second matchup between the Cougars and the Golden Eagles this season the box score wrote differently than the last as the Cougars recorded a 6-3 deficit being swept in doubles to start the match.

Tatiana Betancourt and
Kara Hinton were the first pair to drop their doubles match 8-4 at the No. 3 spot.
Valeriia Kashina and
Jackie Resler fell 8-6 in the No. 2 slot as teammates
Natalie Johnson and
Lisa Schneider fought hard but found themselves losing 9-7 at the No. 1 spot.
Singles started off on a better note as No. 1 Johnson won 6-2, 6-0. Followed by a 6-3, 6-2 loss for Betancourt at the No. 6 position. Contributing to the Cougars chance at a comeback Schneider defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1 closing the gap 4-2 with three matches left to hold off the Golden Eagles. At the No. 3 spot Kashina fell 6-4, 6-2 as the Golden Eagles clinched their victory over the Cougars. Hinton came out of her match at the No. 4 spot victorious 6-3, 6-4. Resler lost in a 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 tiebreaker in the No. 5 slot concluding the Cougars 6-3 deficit.
The Cougars play for the third consecutive day tomorrow against Biola at 3:30 p.m. in La Mirada.
