Lisa Schneider registered the Cougars lone doubles win over No. 14 Nozomi Matsuoka and Kayleigh Hall 8-6 in the No. 1 slot. Doubles concluded with the No. 2 tandem

Kashina was defeated 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot to start singles play. The Cougars tightened the score after Schneider won 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 2 position. The Golden Eagle then increased their lead once again after Betancourt dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision at the No. 6 slot. The Cougars tied the match up with wins from Johnson and Hinton. Johnson won 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 position. Hinton fell 6-4 in her first set but fought off the deficit to come back and win 6-3, 6-4 ultimately tying the team match. Tied at 4-4 Resler put up a strong fight at the No. 5 spot. Resler won the first set 6-3 but fell 6-3, 6-4 in the second and third sets respectively.

The Cougars play again tomorrow in the first match in the consolation bracket. They play at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 21 against an opponent yet to be decided.Â
