The Cougars walked away from this weekends Claremont Convergence 2-2, tallying two wins Saturday against McKendree Universities 18-2 and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 10-4.

McKendree Universities water polo club debuted this season and will be advancing to NCAA varsity status for the 2017-18 academic year. As for now the Cougars 18-2 win over the Bearcats will not count towards their NCAA overall record but as an exhibition game sitting the Cougars 4-6 overall.

Azusa Pacific only allowed McKendree to score twice in the first holding them scoreless the rest of the game. The Cougars scoring effort was lead by
Britt Harris who recorded four throughout the game, along with nine other Cougars recording goals.

The Cougars kept the score even throughout the game, scoring at least to goals quarter and holding Claremont to a single digit final. With the Cougars win over the Athenas, they pick up their third pair of wins on the season.

Claremont opened the game scoring a quarter of their final score, junior
Britt Harris answered with back-to-back goals giving the Cougars an edge. Towards the end of the first quarter, the Athenas found the net bringing the score to an even 2-2. Harris with a hat trick recorded her final scoring attribute of the game early in the second quarter.
Arianne Yeo put up a goal towards the end on the second followed by a Claremont goal in the last few seconds, entering halftime 4-3.

Alex Paxton recorded her lone goal early in the third to give the Cougars a two-point lead. Freshman
Sarah Adams increased Azusa Pacific's lead to 6-3 by score back-to-back goals.
Megan Myers recorded the last goal of the third quarter to bring the Cougars lead to 8-3 entering the final quarter.

Scoring in a timely manner Myers registered her second goal of the day early in the fourth, Claremont recorded their final goal of the day and as soon as the water calmed Tutusaus Alcaraz found the back of the net bringing the final score to 10-4.
