Azusa Pacific is now 9-5 on the season after falling 5-2 to the No. 11 Knights of the Academy of Art.Â
Results
The Cougars started the evening off trailing 2-1 after doubles. The pairing of
Natalie Johnson and
Lisa Schneider were the first Cougars to fall to the Academy of Art No. 11 sister duo of Alma and Klara Thell-Lenntorp 8-3 at the No. 1 position. Things turned around for the Cougars as the tandem of
Kara Hinton and
Tatiana Betancourt retired an 8-3 victory at the No. 3 slot. Tied 1-1 the Knights came back from a 5-0 deficit recording the final doubles win at the No. 2 winning 8-6 against
Valeriia Kashina and
Jackie Resler.
Kashina recorded the Cougars lone singles win at the No. 3 position, beating her opponent 6-0, 6-3. The following singles were unsuccessful as
Nicole Arribere recorded her first appearance of the season along with the Cougars first singles loss of the day falling 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 6 slot. Resler fell 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 5 position, as teammate Hinton dropped 6-1, 6-4 shortly after her totally 5-2 as both Johnson and  Schneider went unfinished.Â
Azusa Pacific returns to the court after a day off, Thursday Hawaii at Hilo at 1:00 p.m.
