IRVINE, Calif. – Azusa Pacific faced Concordia today at the Wollett Aquatic Center. The Cougars tallied a 9-5 win over the Eagles improving 11-8 overall.
Concordia began the game with two goals in the first quarter before the Cougars
Mar Pastor found the net closing the gap 2-1.
Britt Harris, tied up the game 2-2 scoring shortly after Pastor. The Eagles found the net taking the lead once again. Their 3-2 lead was short lived as the Cougars
Sarah Adams,
Annalise Batcheller and Pastor each found the net running away with a 5-3 lead going into the second quarter.
Batcheller was the first player to find the net in the second, followed by teammate
Arianne Yeo expanding the Cougars lead to 7-3. Before the Eagles could find the net again before the half came to an end. Alex Paxton recorded a goal for the Cougars with seconds left in the second. Entering halftime with a comfortable 8-4 lead over the Eagles.
The pool was still as neither team could find the net in the third.
Batcheller recorded her first hat trick of the season in the final quarter. The Cougars held the Eagles to a scoreless quarter until Concordia found the net with seconds left of the game ending in an Azusa Pacific 9-5 victory.
The Cougars return to the Citrus College Aquatic Center in Glendora for their first home game in almost a month for an 11:00 a.m. matchup against the University of the Pacific.
