Azusa Pacific's women took on Colorado Mesa today at the Munson and Bavougian tennis complex coming out on top 8-1 improving their overall record to 8-4.

The Cougars didn't lose in double setting a successful tone for the rest of the day. Two Cougar tandems won 8-3,
Natalie Johnson and
Lisa Schneider at the No. 1 position and Vakleriia Kashina and partner Jackie Resler in the No. 2 spot.
Kara Hinton and partner Tatiana Betancourt finished won 8-4, the Cougars took a strong 3-0 lead into singles.
Johnson was the first cougar to record a singles win at the No. 1 position winning 6-0, 6-1. Hinton finished close behind her beating her opponent 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 4 slot. Schneider recorded a victory at the No. 2 spot winning 6-1, 6-0. Kashina at the No. 3 position dropped her first set, came back and won the second set but couldn't scratch herself a second win dropping 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (3-10). Resler tallied a 6-4, 6-0 win at the No. 5 spot while teammate Betancourt finished up the women's 8-1 victory over Colorado Mesa beating her opponent 6-2, 6-2.
The Cougars return to the court next Monday the 27th at 1:30 p.m. against Middlebury College.
