Azusa Pacific started ahead and never looked back. In their 8-1 win over Biola University today the Cougars did not find themselves behind in a set.

The No. 1 singles match-up saw the Cougars Oliver Frank beat the Eagles Lucas Lee 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 2 position, Christian Schmid defeated Phil Westwood 6-2, 6-3. Roberto Luconi recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win over Joe Turnquist in the No. 5 spot. Both Shepherd Newcomb in the No. 4 position and Cameron Backman in the No. 6 slot beat their opponents 6-2, 6-2.

The tandem of Pejic and Schmid recorded an 8-6 win over Lee and Luke Mountain in the No. 1 position. Newcomb and Marnix Pluim defeated opponents Turnquist and Westwood 8-1 in the No. 2 spot. Frank and Luconi beat Derek James and David Garcia in the No. 3 position 8-1.

Azusa Pacific takes to the road Saturday matching up with the University of California Riverside at 10:00 a.m. in Riverside, Calif.
