With the victory, the Cougars are now 12-4 on the season and the six-match winning streak ties the longest of the season. The last time Azusa Pacific had a longer winning streak was in 2014 when the Cougars reached the NCCAA Championship match.
Jackie Resler and Valeriia Kashina played No. 1 doubles together for the first time and the pair won the last five games in a row to dispose of their opponents 8-2 for the duo's 12th win in 13 matches. Those 12 wins are the most by any Cougar pairing in any season since Emily Harris and Danae Ingwaldson won 16 matches together in 2013.
"They've been playing really good doubles," head coach David Goodman said. "For the coaches, it's a great feeling to know that they are going to play well for us day in and day out, because that's what they have been doing. In some ways, it's like we have a point on the board before the match even starts, because they have been so reliable."
At No. 2 doubles, Lisa Schneider and Lilit Vardanyan played together for the second time, posting an 8-1 victory for their second win in as many days. Then at No. 3 doubles, Lindsey Yeom and Nicole Arribere completed the sweep with an 8-2 victory.
It didn't take long in singles for the Cougars to secure the victory with Kara Hinton winning at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0 before Kashina secured a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 2 singles.
Azusa Pacific is right back on court on Wednesday with a match against UC Santa Cruz before taking a week with no scheduled matches.
