REDLANDS, Calif. – Azusa Pacific concluded a travel heavy weekend in southern California with a pair of game at the University of Redlands.
Just 24 hours after playing in the extreme western side of the Los Angeles basin, the Cougars went to the opposite side of the area on Saturday to face Long Beach State and the Bulldogs.

The 49ers halted Azusa Pacific's four-game winning streak as they used a strong second half to pull away for the win.

During the opening eight minutes the teams split four goals. Long Beach State started to put some separation on the scoreboard as they took a 2-2 game and made it 5-3 after the second quarter. The next eight minutes proved to be the critical period as the 49ers found the back of the cage on three occasions while holding Azusa Pacific scoreless.
Azusa Pacific scored twice in the final stanza but Long Beach State was able to one-up them as they tallied three goals to secure to victory.
Aiding in the winning effort for the 49ers was a 5-for-8 success rate on the extra-person attack
Britt Harris and Maryann Slama each scored two goals for the Cougars while Alex Paxton added one as well. Megan Myers continued her fine offensive distribution with a team best two assists.
Katie Margot was busy in front of the net as she made 11 saves.
Azusa Pacific 13, Redlands 4
The Cougars jumped out to a 5-0 lead and were never threaten the rest of the way in cruising to the victory.

Britt Harris scored another hat trick in pacing the Azusa Pacific offense. Alba Espinar found the back of the cage on two occasions to help a well distributed attack.
Azusa Pacific had nine different players find the back of the cage. Koral Lastella and Robyn Fernandez each scored their first goals of the season.
