LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymont continues to befuddle the Cougars.
The 18th Lions jumped out to a big lead and never relented as the posted a 16-7 victory over Azusa Pacific.
The Lions have yet to lose a game to Azusa Pacific in four all-time meetings. The Cougars fall to 7-12 overall and 0-2 in Golden Coast Conference (GCC) games while Loyola Marymont ups their record to 16-9 and 1-1 respectively.

Taylor Whitney posted a hat trick by scoring one goal each in the first, second and fourth quarters to pace the Cougars offense. Britt Harris scored her third and fourth goals of the season. Courtney Folsom and Morgan Hage rounded out the scorers for Azusa Pacific with a goal each.
Katie Margot made four saves in the opening half before giving way to Erica Marquez.
The defending GCC tournament champions outscored the Cougars 5-1 in each of the first two periods and never looked back. Loyola Marymount continues to press offensively as they won the third quarter by a 3-1 count.
Azusa Pacific posted a positive goal differential in the final period by scoring four of the last seven goals in the contest.
The Cougars continue GCC action with an 11 a.m home contest on Saturday against Fresno Pacific.
