DAVIS, Calif. – Despite a hat trick by Maryann Slama the Cougars fell to UC San Diego 15-8 on Friday afternoon.
The 11th ranked Tritons scored the first nine goals of the game and never looked back. After the opeing 16 minutes of play UC San Diego held a 9-1 edge.

Azusa Pacific outscored the Tritons in the third quarter by a 4-3 margin with Slama scoring three of the net finders. Alex Paxton found the back of the cage as well in the frame.
Each team scored three goals in the final period.
Taylor Whitney also put together a multi-goal game together with a two goal afternoon.
Azusa Pacific is back at it tomorrow as they take on fourth ranked California at 9:15 a.m. then tangle with 16th ranked UC Davis in the afternoon.
