Lin Repeats as Ojai Champ

OJAI, Calif. – Senior Benny Lin successfully defended his 2001 crown, repeating as champion of the 102nd Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament by defeating Rodrigo Suarez of Point Loma Nazarene, 6-3, 6-0, in the championship match.

With Lin's repeat performance, Azusa Pacific has now claimed the last 5 Ojai Valley men's singles' championships.  Additionally, Lin avenges his lone career collegiate loss suffered earlier this year to Suarez.

The Cougars came within one match of an all-Azusa Pacific final when freshman Sam Fletcher advanced to the semifinals before falling to Suarez, 6-4, 6-4.  Lin defeated Point Loma's Zac Markum, 6-1, 6-2, in the semis.
