Grandke Headlines Historic Run as APU Earns Top Seed

Cougars sweep major PacWest honors, highlighted by Player of the Year Soeren Grandke and Co-Coach of the Year Mark Bohren.

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Azusa Pacific men's tennis enters the PacWest Championships as the conference's top team, backed by a dominant regular season and a sweep of major postseason honors.

Grandke Named Player of the Year

Leading the charge is Soeren Grandke, who was named PacWest Player of the Year after a standout campaign at the top of the lineup.

The junior from Germany went undefeated against Division II West Region opponents and compiled a 25–6 singles record while earning his second First Team All-PacWest honor. He also made a major statement in the fall, capturing the ITA West Regional Cup.

Grandke's consistency and dominance at No. 1 singles have been the foundation of APU's success throughout the season.

Bohren Earns Co-Coach of the Year

Director of Tennis Mark Bohren was named PacWest Co-Coach of the Year, continuing his legacy as one of the most successful coaches in collegiate tennis.

Now in his 30th season, Bohren has guided the Cougars to a 19–5 record, with three losses coming against top national competition at the ITA Indoor Championships. He also surpassed 600 career wins this season and now holds an incredible 631–169 record.

Depth Across the Lineup

Azusa Pacific's success has been driven by depth throughout the lineup.

The Cougars' balance has made them one of the most complete teams in the conference.

Championship Ready

After splitting the regular season series with rival Biola, Azusa Pacific enters the postseason as the team to beat.

With elite talent at the top, depth throughout the lineup, and a proven track record under Bohren, the Cougars head into the PacWest Championships with momentum, confidence, and championship expectations.
