TURLOCK, Calif. / FRESNO, Calif. — No. 25 Azusa Pacific women's tennis capped off a historic regular season in dominant fashion, earning back-to-back road victories over Stanislaus State and Fresno Pacific to reach 20 wins for the fifth consecutive season—a new program record.
Under the leadership of Director of Tennis Mark Bohren, the Cougars have now compiled a remarkable 104–23 record over that five-year stretch, solidifying one of the most successful eras in program history.
Match 1: No. 25 APU 6, Stanislaus State 1
Azusa Pacific opened the road trip with a commanding 6–1 victory over Stanislaus State. The Cougars secured the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3, as Vini Bautista and Mariana Reveles and Kimberly Tran and Shannele Lopez delivered strong performances.
In singles, APU dominated across the lineup. Stina Larsson, Vini Bautista, and Karola Suviste each earned straight-set victories on the top three courts, while Melis Mert battled through a three-set match to secure another point. Kimberly Tran added a dominant win at No. 6 to cap the performance.
Match 2: No. 25 APU 5, Fresno Pacific 2
In the regular season finale, the Cougars faced early adversity after dropping the doubles point, but responded with a strong singles surge to defeat Fresno Pacific 5–2.
No. 34 Stina Larsson delivered a clutch win at No. 1 singles in a tight two-set battle, while Karola Suviste, Shannele Lopez, Melis Mert, and Kimberly Tran all earned victories to secure the comeback.
